The New Belgium Brewing Co. has pedaled its way to success. The third-largest craft brewer in the US by sales, the company traces its origin to a bike ride through Belgium that inspired company founder Jeff Lebesch to start the business and create its flagship beer, Fat Tire ale. The Colorado brewery, which produces and sells more than 790,000 barrels of beer annually, also makes Blue Paddle, Sunshine Wheat, and Trippel IPA. New Belgium makes brews under the Lips of Faith name, as well, in funky flavors Biere de Mars, Cocoa Molé Ale, Fresh Hop, Prickly Passion, and Super Cru. Its seasonal selection includes Red Hoptober, Dig, and Somersault. Employee-owned New Belgium distributes its beers nationwide.
